Sydney Water donates $6400 to PCYC Parramatta
Parramatta Youth will benefit from upgraded exercise equipment thanks to a $6,400 donation from Sydney Water’s Service Delivery division to PCYC Parramatta.
Sydney Water Managing Director Kevin Young said the donation was part of Sydney Water’s Giving Through Safety Program, where the organisation raises money for charities chosen by staff as they meet workplace safety targets.
“It’s great that the funds raised will be put towards new exercise equipment for PCYC Parramatta,” Mr Young said.
“Safety is a priority at Sydney Water and the Giving Through Safety Program provides incentives for staff to adopt safe working practices by linking safety targets to dollar donations.
“Since the program began in 2007, it has helped improve inspection, investigation and audit processes and has also contributed to better management and reporting of safety incidents.
“By meeting safety targets, staff across Sydney Water raised over $204,000 for 24 charities in the last financial year and this has been a fantastic achievement.”
PCYC is one of Australia’s leading youth development organisations with over 85,000 members. PCYC Parramatta provides a diverse range of activities for talented young people.
Manager of PCYC Parramatta, Jeannie Banks, said that they are delighted with the donation received from Sydney Water, through their Giving Through Safety Program.
“PCYC Parramatta is very thankful to Sydney Water staff who contributed to the donation with their diligence to safety,” Ms Banks said.
“The donation will enable us to purchase three new spin bikes, one treadmill and make repairs to our static weight machines. Part of the donation will also go towards Police Programs and will assist with the day to day running of the club.”
