Shortlist named for Sydney Water operating model partner

Seven companies have made the shortlist in Sydney Water’s search for a partner to help begin the implementation of its new customer-centric operating model. The announcement follows a market assessment including a Request for Information (RFI). The Executive, Operating Model Implementation program at Sydney Water, Eric de Rooy said the responses to the RFI were strong.

‘We were very impressed by the response from the market after announcing our plans to trial working with a partner to help us start implementing our Operating Model over the next two years,’ Mr de Rooy said.

‘The winning organisation will help implement the first phase of our new operating model that forms part of our strategy to become a truly customer-centric organisation that provides products and services our customers love.

Our new operating model will help build a range of capabilities that include customer intelligence, customer engagement, customer experience, innovation, digital enablement and analytics, to deliver a customer focused, forward thinking, more agile business’, said Mr de Rooy.

The seven organisations that have been invited to participate in the EOI are:

  • Accenture Australia Pty Ltd

  • Deloitte Consulting Pty Ltd

  • Ernst & Young

  • IBM Australia Limited

  • KPMG

  • PricewaterhouseCoopers Australia

  • Third Horizon Consulting Pty Ltd

Mr de Rooy said there was a comprehensive assessment of the responses to the RFI. ‘We are confident our selection processes will result in a collaborative and mutually beneficial relationship between Sydney Water and our chosen partner.

‘We have invited these organisations to participate in an EOI before further shortlisting organisations to participate in an interactive dialogue and tender process,’ he said.

Sydney Water expects that the successful strategic partner will engage external organisations under a consortium style arrangement to deliver on the full range of services needed to support Sydney Water in building the key capabilities required.
